Dave Zenker
Born in Bay City, Texas in 1954, Dave had an typical childhood in Oklahoma. It was filled with:
- School
- Work
- Outdoor Activities
It seems like my whole childhood revolved around trying to make a buck.
You Know.. The More Things Change…
Anyway.. I graduated from High School in 1973 and immediately left for Marine Corps Boot Camp. Four months and 16 million push-ups later I was PFC Zenker. One of the “The Few… The Proud… The Marines.”
While in the Corps I traveled to:
- Japan
- Korea
- Philippines
- Spain
- Other Undisclosed Foreign Locations
and a wide variety of US locations.
Six years later I was honorably discharged from my last post with the Inspector Instructor Staff in Topeka, Kansas.
While in Topeka I met my wife and earned a Bachelors of Accounting from Washburn University.
Upon graduation in 1982 I returned to Texas looking for work. I was employed by a large coatings manufacturer and held a number of posts at that firm. During my time with them I was promoted to their headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. While there, I earned a Masters of Accountancy and Financial Information Systems from Cleveland State University and passed the CPA Exam.
In 1989 we returned to Texas. Upon arrival, I obtained my Texas CPA License. Then, I hung my shingle served a wide variety of clients as Dave Zenker, CPA.
After several years in practice, I returned to the corporate world. The last post I held was Director, Membership Acquisition for a large hospitality firm.
During this time my Wife was attending and ultimately graduated from Vet School at Texas A&M.
To this day….. the saga continues.
